Everything you need to know about our mobile vehicle security installations, fitting times, insurance requirements, and expert recommendations.

Mobile Fitting & Installation Process

How long does a Ghost Immobiliser installation take?

For the majority of cars and vans, a professional installation takes between 1 to 2 hours. Complex luxury vehicles, high-end sports cars, or advanced electrical architectures may require up to 2.5 to 3 hours to ensure completely concealed wiring and integration.

How does your mobile installation service work?

We bring the workshop directly to you. Our specialist mobile engineers travel to your home or workplace across Essex, Kent, and surrounding areas. You don't need to take time off to drive to a garage or sit in a waiting room—we complete the work on your driveway or office car park.

What installation time should I expect for trackers and dash cams?

Thatcham-approved insurance trackers typically take 45 to 60 minutes to hardwire and register. Hardwired dual-dash cam setups (front and rear) generally take between 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the vehicle's trim layout and tailgate wiring requirements.

Do I need to prepare anything before the engineer arrives?

We just need a safe, accessible area to park our mobile installation unit near your vehicle with enough room to open the doors fully. Please ensure personal items are cleared from the footwells, dashboard, and center console areas where our engineers will be working.

Our Expert Recommendations & Protection Advice

What security setup do you recommend for high-risk vehicles?

As media-recognised security experts, we strongly advocate a layered defense strategy. Relying on a single factory lock is no longer enough against keyless relay theft. We recommend pairing a CAN-bus immobiliser (like the Ghost) to stop the car from being driven away, combined with a Thatcham-approved tracker for recovery, and a Faraday pouch to block wireless key signal amplification at home.

Will an aftermarket security system affect my car manufacturer warranty?

No. Our installations are carried out by seasoned auto-electricians using professional, factory-clean integration methods. We do not cut major factory wiring looms or compromise your vehicle’s electrical safety, ensuring your manufacturer warranty remains fully protected.

Will my insurance company require an approved tracker or immobiliser?

Many insurance providers now mandate Thatcham-approved tracking systems (Category S7 or S9) or certified electronic immobilisers for high-performance, high-value, or heavily targeted vehicle models. Always check your policy schedule, and we will supply all necessary installation certificates for your insurer.

What happens if I forget my immobiliser PIN code or sell the vehicle?

During handover, our engineer provides full training on how to operate, reset, or put your system into Service / Transport mode. If you decide to sell your vehicle, systems like the Ghost can often be professionally transferred to your new car by our team.
